Senior Profile Steven Bloedel

Steven is a 4 year letterman for us. He was an outstanding Kicker for us twice earning All- Area honors. Steven Started at Defensive End his Junior and Senior Years. He is a very gifted athlete and excellent Kicker. His best kicking performance as Lion came against Laurence Manning in 2008 with 2 FG's and an extra point in a 13-7 Win.

What I will always remember about Steven is his athleticism and his ability to make plays on Friday. He played a Key Role in our Success the past 4 years.....Thanks Steven!

News from Nashville

The American Football Coaches Association is holding its Convention in Nashville this week. I have been blessed greatly to have had the opportunity to see, hear and meet so many great Coaches. On Sunday I attended a Worship service hosted by the Fellowship of Christian athletes and heard Les Steckel and others share. Monday Evening I listened to The Special Teams coach from Kentucky State and the Quarterback Coach from the University of Houston. Monday I attended the HS Coaches Clinic and Heard Head Coaches from a Cleveland Area, Maryville, Tenn, and St Thomas Aquanas. Later that day Mike Leach (Texas Tech), Bob Stoops (Oklahoma) spoke on their Philosophy. The Greates Treat was a session moderated by Grant Teaff (former Baylor Coach) which had Joe Paterno and Tom Osborne discuss issues from their Career. The evening conctluded with buzz sessions from Mike Sewak (GT) on the Option scheme and Chris Hatcher (Georgia Southern) on Quarterback play. The last event of the day was an FCA even featuring Frosty Westerly.

Player Profile: Jesus

Position:
Lord of Lords, King of Kings, Son of God, Savior. Perhaps no one person has had a greater impact on our football team. Jesus is the Glue that holds us together. He is our team leader, our MVP...over the past 5 years over 35 Lions have come to know Him as Savior. He has a bright future and we can't wait to see where
He will lead our Team in the Future....Key victories:Death, Hell, the Grave.

I will always remember the first time I met Jesus, It was in May of 1978. My life has never been the same. He is closer than a brother, You can Count on Him!

Thanks for all YOU do!

Senior Profile Micah Herriman

Micah is a four year member of the Lions varsity. He was a member of the Unity Council. He began his career as a QB on the JV Squad and developed into one of the Best DB's in ACS History.

Micah was selected to the All-State Team his Junior year and was selected to play in the North South Game this past December. He was a great special teamer and held for all our extra points and Field Goals.

Micah did a great job of making tackles from his safety spot and had a knack for the big play.

I will always remember Micah for his leadership skills both in regards to the Football team and to their Spirtual walk. I beleive that Micah's teamates would tell you that he has their respect and admiration. Micah got every bit he could out of himself and always left everything on the field...the only bad thing I could say about him is that he's a Gator!

Thanks Micah!

Senior Profile Mike Robinson

Mike really improved over the course of his High School Career. His sophomore year was spent mainly in the role of a back-up to Josh Whitaker. Josh sustained an injury in the Sem-Final game against Laurence Manning. He Started the 2006 State Championship game.

His Junior year he again served on Special Teams and reserve Tight End...He had a TD Pass reception in the Region Championship game. Mike was the starting TE his Senior year and score the Lions first TD of the Season against OP.

Mike has always been a hard worker. He worked extremely hard to become a good receiver.

Mike is Quiet,Dependable, and hardworking....The lasting image I have of Mike was the TD pass against Hammond....

Good Luck Mike!

Senior Profile William Banks

William is the last in the long line of Bank's Boys....He began his career as a Tailback on a JV team that did not have much success. As a Sophomore his work ethic allowed him to become our starting Flanker and also began covering kicks. He had a season ending injury against Cardinal Newman that required Surgery. His Junior year he he became our go to Receiver and a playmaker as a return player....This past season he Rushed for over 200 yards and 4 TD's in the opener but was forced to play QB when Jackson was injured in game two. He did a fine job and finished with a very good performance in the Shrine Bowl.

The things I will remember about William are his great work ethic, his leadership ability, and his ability to make something out of nothing. I a very proud of William and know that he will be very successful....

God Bless,

Coach
