Player Profile: Jesus

Position:
Lord of Lords, King of Kings, Son of God, Savior. Perhaps no one person has had a greater impact on our football team. Jesus is the Glue that holds us together. He is our team leader, our MVP...over the past 5 years over 35 Lions have come to know Him as Savior. He has a bright future and we can't wait to see where
He will lead our Team in the Future....Key victories:Death, Hell, the Grave.

I will always remember the first time I met Jesus, It was in May of 1978. My life has never been the same. He is closer than a brother, You can Count on Him!

Thanks for all YOU do!

Senior Profile Micah Herriman

Micah is a four year member of the Lions varsity. He was a member of the Unity Council. He began his career as a QB on the JV Squad and developed into one of the Best DB's in ACS History.

Micah was selected to the All-State Team his Junior year and was selected to play in the North South Game this past December. He was a great special teamer and held for all our extra points and Field Goals.

Micah did a great job of making tackles from his safety spot and had a knack for the big play.

I will always remember Micah for his leadership skills both in regards to the Football team and to their Spirtual walk. I beleive that Micah's teamates would tell you that he has their respect and admiration. Micah got every bit he could out of himself and always left everything on the field...the only bad thing I could say about him is that he's a Gator!

Thanks Micah!

Senior Profile Mike Robinson

Mike really improved over the course of his High School Career. His sophomore year was spent mainly in the role of a back-up to Josh Whitaker. Josh sustained an injury in the Sem-Final game against Laurence Manning. He Started the 2006 State Championship game.

His Junior year he again served on Special Teams and reserve Tight End...He had a TD Pass reception in the Region Championship game. Mike was the starting TE his Senior year and score the Lions first TD of the Season against OP.

Mike has always been a hard worker. He worked extremely hard to become a good receiver.

Mike is Quiet,Dependable, and hardworking....The lasting image I have of Mike was the TD pass against Hammond....

Good Luck Mike!

Senior Profile William Banks

William is the last in the long line of Bank's Boys....He began his career as a Tailback on a JV team that did not have much success. As a Sophomore his work ethic allowed him to become our starting Flanker and also began covering kicks. He had a season ending injury against Cardinal Newman that required Surgery. His Junior year he he became our go to Receiver and a playmaker as a return player....This past season he Rushed for over 200 yards and 4 TD's in the opener but was forced to play QB when Jackson was injured in game two. He did a fine job and finished with a very good performance in the Shrine Bowl.

The things I will remember about William are his great work ethic, his leadership ability, and his ability to make something out of nothing. I a very proud of William and know that he will be very successful....

God Bless,

Coach

Today we kicked off at 6:15 AM....52 of the 55 were present on time....the 3 that were late probably have made a decision not to ever be late again!

The PIT was WET today...jsut the way the guys like it! Team Intensity showed great improvement never having to go to the PIT for Losing an Event! One of the Highlights of day #3 was the one on one Tug of War...The kids really competed hard and the event ended with a challenge match between Xander "The X-Man" Davis and AJ "South of Philly" Morenielli, it was a battle of epic proportions with the X Man coming out on top!

Lions Prepare for Week of Champions!

We have been very busy the past two weeks. Spring Practice was a success and it reinforced what we suspected about our team....The defense is very fast and experienced and the offense is young and will continue to improve each and every day! Our Kicking game looks to once again be solid and we are blessed to have a great group of assistants!

Friday May 16th saw the 2nd annual Week of Champions draft...it was a great success and a time of fun and fellowship for the team. The Teams are: Honesty, Integrity, Steadfast, Honor, Respect, Sacrifice, Loyalty, and Discipline. The Draft was held in the Gym and Pizza courtesy of Roboli's was enjoyed afterwards.

Monday May 19th saw 31 of the Lions take part in optional workouts prior to the end of school. Strength Coach Keith Walton and the rest of the ACS Staff challenged the kids through a Dynamic Workout and a Strength Room Session....Its only 74 Days till Kick-Off!

April 11, 2007-Win Forever!

Win Forever is a motto we have selected for our Football Program. While to the casual observer it might seem that we are preoccupied with winning every game, every year---That would be nice and we want to win every time we play; but, that is a narrow definition of winning forever. We want all our players to Win For Eternity! Recently Mark Cahill spoke during DNOW week at our Church. Mark is a former College Basketball Player from Auburn, who has dedicated his life to serving Jesus and leading others to a saving knowledge. He wrote a book entitled "One Heartbeat Away...The premise of his Message is "If it all ended to day do you know what is on the other side?" Can you Imagine Jim Nantz (CBS) asking that question to the Kansas Basketball Team or John Madden asking the New York Giants that Following the Super Bowl? What I have found is that Winning games is fun; but, after a while the thrill and the Crowd goes away....God never goes away and our worth to him has been proven by his sending Christ to die for us prior to our winning that championships or setting that record. Mark was able to ask that question to a very notible golfer playing in this weeks Masters....the Golfers response...."I don't Know"....Let's pray for courage to witness and for the souls of those that don't know Jesus.....Let's help Others WIN FOREVER!

Below is a link to place that can help you answer that question....
